Rule Changes At the Special Meeting held on the 27th January 2008 and at the Annual General Meeting the following changes were made to the NCA Rule Book: 1. The Classification of a Novice Barrel Racing Horse;- A horse is classified a Novice when it has not placed 1st or 2nd in an Open or Ladies Barrel Race or if the horse has not recorded a official time of 18.2seconds or less, in any barrel racing event, except in the case of where the arena is considered by the committee to be small or if the horse has not won more than three (3) Novice Barrel Races. 2. Procedure and members responsibility when nominating two horses in the same event:- In the event of a competitor who is a NCA member riding two horses in the same event at the same rodeo, at the time of nomination the member must nominate which of the two horses they will be collecting points off or points will not be awarded for either horse. The second horse (the un-nominated horse) must not run until all other competitors have finished. 3. Stock Saddles;- Competitors can now use stock saddles in open events and still collect points. This rule is being backdated to include the New Years Eve Rodeo at Noonamah which was the first rodeo for the NCA 2008 season. |
